National Strategy. Industry Led. National Semiconductor Economic Roadmap

The first-of-its-kind National Semiconductor Economic Roadmap is designed to advance U.S. semiconductor competitiveness. Addressing the global demand, the industry-led roadmap initiative will craft a blueprint for the future of this industry. Industry leaders, educational institutions and the public sector will collaborate to future-proof semiconductor manufacturing in the United States.

  • “A thriving semiconductor ecosystem requires solid infrastructure, a comprehensive supply chain, and a steady inflow of talented and dedicated people. TSMC is building a fab in Arizona using 5nm technology that is set to be the most advanced semiconductor manufacturing facility on U.S. soil when it is completed, and we look forward to contributing towards a prosperous semiconductor ecosystem in the United States.”
    - Rick Cassidy, Chief Executive Officer and President, TSMC Arizona
  • “The National Semiconductor Economic Roadmap will provide an opportunity to further collaborate on an industry-driven pathway for the future in partnership with states that are on the front lines of semiconductor investment, attraction, and retention. As SIA continues to spearhead recommended federal policies to further strengthen the U.S. semiconductor industry, we look forward to engaging with state and local partners on workforce, regulatory, and critical infrastructure issues via this effort.”
    - John Neuffer, President and CEO, Semiconductor Industry Association
  • “Headquartered in Arizona and with operations around the world, Microchip is helping our global customers achieve smart, connected and secure embedded control solutions. Through an industry-led road mapping process, we can better align state and local partners in ways that address common challenges today and prepare for success in the years and decades ahead.”
    - Steve Sanghi, President and CEO, Microchip Technology Inc.
  • “At NXP, we build automotive, industrial, communication infrastructure, and smart city technology solutions that improve people’s daily lives. We believe that the national economic roadmap will help forge a path forward to diversify such semiconductor applications while ensuring states across the U.S. take steps to further optimize the semiconductor investment climate, infrastructure, and workforce. We are proud to share our expertise as part of this effort to expand semiconductor production nationwide.”
    - Kurt Sievers, President and CEO, NXP Semiconductors
  • “As Arizona’s experience has shown, states are on the front lines of semiconductor investment and attraction. We’re proud to help lead this historic effort alongside our state and industry partners to develop a shared vision, one that can help drive American semiconductor leadership for decades to come.”
    - Sandra Watson, President and CEO, Arizona Commerce Authority
  • “Arizona State University not only wants to advance our faculty’s research and produce talented graduates vital to future workforce, but to move into a leadership position both nationally and internationally. This requires a comprehensive approach, deliberate focus, and strong partnerships. This national, industry-led semiconductor roadmap is part of that strategy and we look forward to engaging.”
    - Dr. Michael Crow, President, Arizona State University
  • “In Arizona, we know the importance of aligning higher education—our universities, community colleges, and vocational schools—with industry to help prepare the workforce of the future. NAU is excited to be a partner in the National Semiconductor Economic Roadmap effort, and we stand ready to lend our expertise to ensure we are providing access and opportunities that will prepare our students for success tomorrow.”
    - Dr. José Luis Cruz Rivera, Northern Arizona University
  • “We are very excited to take part in the National Semiconductor Economic Roadmap. Arizona is already a leader in fields such as quantum networking, optical sciences, and advanced materials. With our deep reservoir of talent and expertise, we are well positioned to bring together the public, private and academic sectors to launch this effort.”
    - Dr. Robert Robbins, President, University of Arizona

“Intel has been at the forefront of designing and manufacturing semiconductors in the United States for over 50 years, and many of our leading commercial and technological innovations have grown out of Arizona. Fostering deeper partnerships with our research institutions, universities, defense institutions, state leaders, and more will be critical to our long-term economic and national security, and we are pleased to join this worthwhile effort.”

- Pat Gelsinger, CEO, Intel
